Hey creators! Welcome to week 5 of the 90 Days of Play Challenge! This week, we’re taking a deep dive into the world of creativity, sparking joy through crafting, connecting with loved ones through playful activities, and celebrating the power of play!

This Week’s Mission:

Remember the satisfaction of creating something with your own two hands? Or the joy of sharing laughter and games with loved ones? This week, we’re combining those elements for a creativity explosion!

• Craft Your Creativity: Find a creative outlet that sparks your joy! Whether it’s painting, drawing, sculpting,writing, or something else entirely, dedicate some time this week to creating something from scratch. Let your imagination run wild and don’t be afraid to experiment!
• Connect Through Play: This week, ditch the screens and reconnect with loved ones through the power of play!Organize a board game night, plan a scavenger hunt in the park, or simply build a pillow fort and tell stories.Rediscover the joy of being present and creating shared memories.
• Celebrate Play! Take some time this week to truly celebrate the power of play in your life. Reflect on the activities that brought you joy throughout the challenge so far. Did you rediscover a forgotten hobby? Learn a new skill? Most importantly, did you reconnect with your inner child and experience the simple joy of play?

Double the Fun!

Set two timers this week for a double dose of creative fun! Schedule one timer for your dedicated creative session, and set a surprise “spontaneous play” timer to go off randomly throughout the day. When that second timer beeps, stop what you’re doing and grab a friend or family member. Engage in a quick game, have a silly dance party, or simply tell a joke – anything to inject a playful moment into your day.

How it’s going for me: So, my experience on this journey has not gone as expected. Like anything in life, it has happened in waves. Some days, I get so giddy and excited for my play timers, and other days, there is this part of me that has to be dragged up and into it. Either way it starts, it always ends the same… with me, feeling great. And yes, I have missed some timers. I have even accidentally skipped a couple of days!! ADHD brain here. Do you know what I did for the days that I missed? Not a damn thing! This is for fun remember! Shame, guilt and self-punishment are part of the old paradigm. This is for our inner child and lord knows, they have experienced enough of that. So if it doesn’t go as planned, take from the wise world of Taylor Swift and “Shake it off.” Tomorrow is another day to wake up and decide to play! (see what I did there.) While, I will admit that this journey has not been perfect, I can’t stress enough how amazing I feel. I wake up each morning with the biggest smile and completely ready for what the day has in store. I am biggin’ myself up all day and literally feel like I’m having a love affair between my soul and my human. It’s fun, it’s fulfilling, it’s life giving. So what are you waiting for?
